Privacy Policy

Who this policy covers

JurisHub is a study tool built for GIMPA Faculty of Law students, run by an independent entity. It is not a registered company, and it is not operated, endorsed, or affiliated with the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). References to GIMPA courses and exam papers describe the study content organised on the platform, not any relationship with the institution. This policy is issued by JurisHub, an independent entity, reachable at jurishubforstudents@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
• Your institution, if you provide one.
• Your activity in the app: bookmarked questions, practice session history, and which questions you've marked reviewed.
• Notes you write on a question, which are private to your account and never shown to other students or admins.
• If you use the “From my notes” feature, the lecture notes you paste in, sent to our AI provider only to match them to a topic, and not stored once your results are shown.
• If you contact us or an admin, the message and the name/email you send it with.
• If you're an admin, the past-question content you add, including any files you upload for automatic question extraction.
• Basic technical data our hosting provider logs for every request (like IP address), used only to keep the service secure and stop abuse of forms and login.

We only collect what's needed to run these features. We don't ask for anything beyond that, and we don't run any advertising or tracking pixels.

Why we collect it

• Account details and activity: to create and run your account, and show your saved questions and progress. Without these, the service can't function, so this is necessary to provide it.
• Notes pasted into “From my notes”: solely to identify which topic they cover, so we can show you matching past questions.
• Contact messages: to respond to you.
• Technical/IP data: to prevent spam, abuse, and account-takeover attempts (for example, limiting how many times a form can be submitted from one source in a short period).
• Password reset emails: sent only when you request one.
• Weekly review reminder: an optional email, on by default, listing questions due for a second pass. Turn it off any time in Settings.

We do not sell your data, we do not use your study activity for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Who else sees it

JurisHub runs on third-party infrastructure that processes data on our behalf, strictly to operate the service:

• Vercel: hosting, and cookieless, aggregated page-view analytics (see our Cookie Policy).
• Neon: our database provider, which stores account and activity data.
• Resend: sends account emails (password resets, contact-form replies) on our behalf.
• An AI model provider, via Vercel's AI Gateway: used when an admin uploads a document for automatic question extraction, and when you use “From my notes” to match your own notes to a topic. In both cases the content is sent only to produce that one result; it is not stored by the AI provider beyond generating it, and it is not used to build profiles of students.

These providers may process data on servers outside Ghana. We only use providers that are contractually required to protect data and use it solely to provide their service to us, never for their own purposes. We do not share your data with anyone else, and we never sell it.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. See the Cookie Policy for the full detail, including why we don't show a cookie-consent banner.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and activity for as long as your account is active. Public contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry. If you'd like your account or your data deleted, contact us and we'll remove it, other than records we're required to keep for a legitimate reason (like fraud prevention).

Children's privacy

JurisHub is built for university-level law students and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Your rights

Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it's wrong, ask us to delete it, and object to how it's used. To exercise any of these, email us at the address below. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can also contact Ghana's Data Protection Commission.

Security

Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text, connections to JurisHub are encrypted (HTTPS), and access to student data is limited to what's needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Changes

If how we handle data changes meaningfully, we'll update this page and change the date above.
